Tintsaba

Each basket is graded according to its technical and artistic qualities: shape size of coil, size of hand spun cotton, start, finish, and pattern – symmetry, colour combination and effort. The grades range from Trainee, Market, Craft and Gallery.

Master Weaver’s baskets are judged according to strict Grading : the size  of  the coil(umcolo), the delicate hand spun(photsa) of the sisal,  the creativity of its pattern (hlobisa) and the basket’s shape.
